I like hobos. I hate Santa.

There is something strange that you have to know about me.
This is how I fall in love.
And you're probably wondering what particular way it is...

I like voices.

Of course, like every human being, I look at the outfit a little too. But it's not what's the most important with me !!
I already fell in love with people I have never seen but have talked to (Hazel, for example). I often enjoy listening to some friends talking - just for the nice sound of their voice. (I won't give names though..).
Yes, you are right, it's not called "falling in love" - it is probably just the way I get attached to people...
It's totally out of my control. A warm voice will always make me feel better even if I don't listen to the words. And sometimes even the nicest words said with a voice that I don't especially appreciate won't do nothing. I know for sure that someone singing for me will have more chances of ending as a boyfriend than someone saying a compliment and flirting.. lol

I even found some extracts from my myspace blog past year explaining it :
I love Hazel with all my heart. I talked to her on skype for a while. Like I said before, when I feel sad, one little voice could change everything. And she is one of the rare friends who has this power. When she talks to me, she's not only friendly, but she cares about me more than my family (but that's easy because my family doesn't)... [November 07, 2008]

Yesterday night I talked for the first time to Hazel on Skype. I know her since more than a year. I'll never know her name, her age, her job, or any personal information. But I love her. And her voice was really sweet. She is sooooo nice, so kind.
In fact, with me, everything comes with the voice. I like someone because of his voice. It always works like that. That's why I also fall in love easily with singers.
I can't call it love. But I like Hazel. How could you like a mysterious screenname? Like that! I can't wait to hear from her soon. But now I want to talk to Ross, I miss his voice. I don't know why. In a way I'm in love with him too. But I'm always on withdrawal when I don't listen to some voices for a long time. [ November 04, 2008 ]

The reason I say all this is because I recently watched again one of my favorite movies called Shortbus by John Cameron Mitchell (I was fan of him since Hedwig and the angry inch).
There's two of my favorite singers in that movie (and the soundtrack).

Scott Matthew.
Seriously, he looks like a hobo. Hairy and really messy. But he made me love ukulele. His voice is so sweet. I listen to him all the time. And he made me love his style and I find him so damn cute now!! <3
He's less famous than the Herman Dune and many others. But I think he's better than them!!!

Jay Brannan.
No need to introduce him, he's a gay icon. You might remember him (and his body) from Shortbus too...
I still love his voice very much, and even if he doesn't look like a hobo, I love him for sharing my hate of Christmas so much. Listen to his sweet voice please!
&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;a href="http://jaybrannan.bandcamp.com/album/christmas-really-sucks"&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;Christmas Really Sucks by Jay Brannan&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;/a&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;

And you, who are the singers making you feel so relaxed, happy and warm ??
What is the feature you really look the most on someone ?
Do you like voices ?

  1. I love voices too, and singing especially - I wish I could sing better. But I look for a good heart mostly. A heart that can give as much as is needed and never run out of love or caring or compassion. Some people try to hide their good heart out of fear or insecurity - but a good heart is always there everytime it is needed. So yes - I love to listen to voices and singing, but give me a good heart to raise me up and give me hope and make me fall in love.

  2. Son, you shouldn't hate Santa...(it's me you know). But I know your reasons, and I feel bad becasue of that.
Voices: You know that voices are always something we live for. Hearing a voice you know, the voice of a friend, can be comforting and reassuring. Some voices give us chills down our spine. And of course, some voices we fall in love with. You know which voice I am in love with.
Keep polluxxioning my life, Shane, I enjoy reading your words. They are almost as sweet as hearing your voice. :)

  4. Over the years, there have been many singers that I loved, for the things their voices brought across and triggered in me. One of those singers has remained a constant factor of fascination for me: David Sylvian, former singer of the 1980's band "Japan". Here's a song of his that is among my current favourites:

And a short while after I started out on YouTube, I discovered the British choir Libera. They are exceptional to me, and their music was of so much importance during 2009, which became my darkest and most devastating year of all the 45 I am on this world now. Here are six videos to songs of them (three of which I made myself):

Note: This is the same comment as the one I removed; I acidentaly wrote "3009" instead of "2009", and that typo, I did not want to leave in.
